Answering Common Questions About Condensate Management

Our staff at Grohall is committed to providing expert guidance to customers as they choose the right equipment, products, and accessories for their needs. What is Condensate Management?

When you work with air compressors, they produce water during the compression process. This added moisture can cause problems with your equipment or increase the moisture or humidity levels of your plant or facility. Condensate management is the process of reducing and eliminating the condensate byproduct from air compressors so that it doesn’t cause damage to your dryers, tools, gauges, and other costly equipment and machinery. Products that address this include drains, oil-water separators, liquid separators, and customized management systems.

What are Condensate Drains and Why Do I Need Them?

A condensate drain allows liquid oil and water condensation to drain safely away from manufacturing equipment and machinery and products. They prevent contamination and eliminate the need to manually drain air lines and equipment. Automatic condensate drains also prevent backup of condensate in receiver tanks, which could cause your air compressor to short cycle.

Where Do I Install Condensate Drains?

We typically recommend condensate drain installation as part of a custom condensate management system. We install drains at after receiver tanks, after coolers, refrigerated dryers, and filters.

How Do I Choose a Condensate Drain?

We carry a wide selection of condensate drains and can create a custom condensate management system for your plant, warehouse, or facility. Our highly trained staff can assess your equipment, workflow, and facility design to determine which condensate management products meet your needs.

What Brands of Condensate Drains Does Grohall Sell?

We carry products from reliable brands with a reputation for excellence. All of the products we sell and distribute have a stellar reputation and are built to last. Some of the condensate management product brands we sell are Champion, Saylor-Beall, and Graco.

What are the Benefits of Using Grohall’s Condensate Drains?

Our condensate management products are specifically designed for your industry and can enhance the safety, performance, lifespan, and efficiency of your workflow. We can recommend products that improve your operational efficiencies and reduce your risk of equipment and machinery malfunction, breakdowns, delays, and contamination.

What is an Oil-Water Separator and Why Do I Need One?

Air compressors release atmospheric water vapor and lubricant during the compression process. An oil-water separator is equipment that quickly and easily separates lubricants from water so that they can be properly drained and kept away from manufacturing processes and equipment.
